My ethics course focused on meta-ethical questions, the history of ethical thought, contemporary issues in ethics, and professional ethics such as business ethics and medical ethics. In my course on metaphysics we did close-readings of texts concerned with metaphysical questions from the history of Western thought. We discussed questions having to do with piety, mind/body dualism, and the nature of the soul, among other complex dilemmas. Philosophy of the Human Person addressed the history of philosophical thinking in a broad sense. We read shorter excerpts of text ranging from the Presocratics to contemporary philosophers.
