The group consists of eight operating entities, one active project and a number of small non-operating entities. Prior to joining the group, the finance department consisted of 10 members. The HOD resigned and his 2IC took over the role until I joined in October 2018. Two senior team members were moved to different departments during Q1 2018 and beginning April 2019 respectively. There were three accountants responsible for the big six entities of which one resigned end May 2019. Despite these challenges we were able to finalise the 2017 audit, catch up on 2018 and have it almost ready for sign off.
