Oct. 2010 - Apr. 2013Seattle, Washington, United StatesThe Ladies of Mischief (2010-2019) was a collaborative writing, design, and fashion project. Fully envisioned, created, and operated by a group of talented friends, our output over the three core years of operation included a long-running blog, dozens of knitting patterns, a 2.5x funded kickstarter, fashion show and event appearances, all culminating in the October 2012 release of Needles and Artifice, a one-of-its-kind steampunk adventure novella and knitting book. My detailed contributions to this audacious and highly successful adventure are as follows: • Provided key vision during early project concept meetings, formulating our strategy for our public-facing campaign and content, integration between that and our book, thematic concept and elements of book chapters - pattern names, character integration, settings - and more! Ensured the consistency, effectiveness, and charm of the project as a single immersive experience. • Managed our blog for its two-plus year run, contributing a total of over 60 weekly posts, intros, outros, and announcements. Curated the vision for the blog as a mystery teaser leading up to the announcement of the book. • Designed and contributed three patterns to the book, including the fan-favorite Null Hypothesis Scarf, which has been 'favorited' over 4000 times, with 165 documented projects, on the knitting site Ravelry.com. • Provided cohesive, creative, and clear writing elements for the book, including the introduction, and pattern names and descriptive copy for each of the 23 patterns.
