I would work with Social Workers and placement of patients who medical needs were too complex and needed a step down unit. Once referred a patient I would do an assessment to ensure they would qualify for the care provided. If the patient qualified I would meet with family to explain the resources that would be available to them at Select.

I have held different roles during my time here such as STAT therapist, and a lead therapist. I have coordinated LOGO wear orders, volunteer activities such as providing meals to families who live a long ways away, and providing Christmas gifts to families that are less fortunate. I and another co-worker developed our Trach Education Binder for families and caregivers. I enjoy taking part in educating others. I teach Creighton Post Nursing conference, General Orientation, Advanced Respiratory Class, Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Specialist class, and Rural Hospital outreach. I participate in the orientation of new employees by training them on the medical surgical floors as well as the ICU.
