Jan. 2016 - Oct. 2017Fort Lauderdale, FLI sought out this position at Stash for the duration of my time achieving my Master's Degree. Although it was known on all sides that it wouldn't be an extended position, I helped build and maintain the store's reputation from making buying decisions to cultivating the store's social media platforms, and coordinating local community involvement. Working directly with the store owner, daily tasks include:
- Managing all store operations (buying/inventory, pricing, merchandising, consigner contracts, client sales, employees and scheduling)
- Creating and managing integrated marketing and advertising initiatives/plans/promotions
- Maintaining the store's branding initiative as "The Boutique with a Conscience"
- Working directly with retail vendors for buying
- Email marketing to current customers, consigners, and prospective clients with biweekly newsletters and event invitations/updates
- Planning, coordinating, and executing benefit events with local and national organizations (including but not limited to Women in Distress of Broward County, the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County, the Children's Diagnostic Center of Broward County, Good Karma Pet Rescue, Gilda's Club, and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life)
- Social media content creative and management (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
- Executing social media platform buys to spread awareness about the store/events, and drive in-store foot traffic - Networking to cross promote with other local businesses
- Writing and submitting press releases to local publications
