Sep. 2020Taught English 1, a survey of classical literature, as well as novel study, to Freshman with emphasis on literary analysis and comprehension of common literary devices such metaphor, allegory, allusion and Shakespearian language.
Taught Writing Process, a course geared to introduce Freshmen to common writing conventions to help them excel in their high school writing. Course covers a variety of writing skills such as poetry, personal essays, argumentative essays, food writing and crafting a strong, analytical thesis
Design and teach Reboots, Redos and Ripoffs, a Sophomore English and Creative Writing class based around classical literature and adaptations of these works. Coursework also focuses on author’s craft and gives a myriad of opportunities for students to conduct their own creative writing.
5 Years adjunct teaching a Freshman Humanities Seminar to THHS seniors through the Bridge Year program at Queens College.
4 Years experience working with students with IEPs, learning and physical disabilities, and mental and emotional health needs. Provide emotional and academic support when needed. Attend IEP meetings, write recommendations, scaffold content and co-teach with ISS teachers.
