My name is Lucas Dean, I have recently retired but have had a variety of careers. Most significantly (as far as this bio is concerned) as a software engineer from 1987 to 2005 during which time I wrote software for land and hydrographic surveying (map-making) purposes. My main skill was writing mathematical algorithms relying on others to assemble the various resulting modules. Since 2005 I have been in church leadership. In my time as a software engineer, I have used Fortran IV, Fortran 77, HP's Rocky Mountain Basic, Pascal, C, C++ & C#. During my time in church leadership, I tinkered with VBA in Microsoft Excel - the joke in discussions at church was: "I have a spreadsheet for that." However, while I acknowledge that my software or programming skills are no longer cutting-edge! Having been in the religious world for many years, by using Intch, I plan to start somewhere near the bottom of the ladder and gain experience and confidence in the commercial world. I would describe myself as reliable: working in church leadership means every week there is an immovable deadline of Sunday, 10 am when the order of service and sermon had to be ready. For the record: my date of birth is 8th Mar 1957. Education: I have 11 O-Levels and 2 A-Levels; BTEC-HND and BSc 2.1 with Hons in Land and Hydrographic Surveying Sciences and two post-graduate diplomas in theology and "Ordained Ministry". I have also worked on a building site, as a professional driver (HGV1 and PSV1). As a land and hydrographic surveyor (specializing in finding aircraft lost at sea). I am married to Jane and (despite my obvious maturity) I still have sons aged (19 & 16). I am currently still living in UK, but hope my US Visa application (approved but not yet issued) will be issued soon so I can rejoin my family in Colorado, USA). Age encourages or enforces changes to hobbies: I cycle and ski less but still enjoy hiking in the mountains.
