- Search/write grants for funding for children's garden, & educational workshops
- Seek out corporate sponsors to package programs/events - Develop a membership program & database management
- Host an annual fund raising gala in The Gardens
- Travel & meet with all Garden Clubs in NC who made The Elizabethan Gardens possible through their donations. Marketing -
- Create the brand through all print, web, radio & social media. - Work with web designers for website traffic growth, and advertising revenue. - Developed a strategy to attract visitors, locals & tour groups - Manage the marketing budget
- Highlight the The Gardens seasonal beauty to attract return visitors Education -
- Create gardening workshop concepts for adults & youth,cooking with herbs, plant prorogation and container gardening.
- Develop timelines and calendar of events
- Update the docent and tour guide tours
- Train docents
- Work with costume designer Joan Brumbach to create an Elizabethan costume for tour guides.
- Develop the character Lady Nancy
- Create children's gardening camps with the topic of promoting healthy living and gardening through an edible pizza garden with help from corporate sponsor Pizza Hut.
- Work with the Executive Director, Carl V. Curnutte, III on the concept for a 1500th Century Children's Garden
- Work with college interns Volunteer -
- Develop a strategy to get volunteers to donate their time to the gardens in the gate house, green house, gardens, administration offices and help out with workshops, childrens camps and special events.
- Develop ways to let them know how much we value their time and efforts
- Keep volunteers informed of the needs of The Gardens
- Retain and train new volunteers
- Keep volunteers engaged in The Gardens for long term loyalty
- Develop ways to say thank you though cookouts, thank you notes, phone calls
