To this end, I utilize both physical techniques and digital technologies in my creative process. Because my studio functions as a business, I have had to master administrative tasks such as maintaining client engagement, providing updates and feedback, stock control, calculating estimates, issuing invoices, worldwide shipping logistics of original pieces, as well as obtaining transit insurance.
Marketing creates visibility and attracts new clients. To this end, I have gained much experience in social media marketing, ranging from building my brand identity to crafting unique posts and writing engaging captions.
Time management is of the essence to ensure that I meet deadlines in a timely fashion.
I'm also quite proficient at writing informative content around specific projects and my creative endeavors in general.

Oct. 2001 - Dec. 2013When I joined Globe Gallery Art Consultants in 2001, the business operated as a small retail gallery and framery. Here my duties included the following:
-Receiving clients and assisting in finding the optimal frame for their artwork, while considering their personal style.
-Supervising the framing process and assisting when needed.
-Making custom hand-stained or painted frames according to client specifications.
-Restoring damaged and antique frames.
-Ordering and receiving of stock and meeting with representatives of molding companies to remain updated with framing trends.
-Working with interior designers and sourcing suitable artworks and/or reproductions for their projects.
-Conceptualizing exhibitions and sourcing original artworks for the gallery.
As the business and client base grew, the owner incorporated the consignment and private treaty sale of South African old masters. This proved popular to the extent that the owner decided to concentrate on this aspect of the business by closing the framing department and moving to a more suitable gallery space. Here my duties included the following:
-Receiving prospective buyers and sellers.
-Consignment of original South African old masters.
-Confirming authenticity by examining and confirming the provenance of works.
-Checking of the condition of artworks and advising on the cleaning and/or restoration of artworks.
-General maintenance of the gallery space.
-Conceptualization of exhibitions.
-Advising clients on the current value of artworks.
-Arranging for the suitable insurance and transport of artworks.
-Collection and delivery of consigned or sold pieces.
-Working with collectors in building collections, sourcing artworks and purchasing at auction on behalf of collectors.
-Documenting and compiling catalogues of client collections for insurance purposes.
-Corresponding with clients and experts via e-mail.
-General research of artists their artworks and relevant history.
