Nov. 2004 - Jan. 2006 Created, managed and directed all necessary activities to implement systems and processes to ensure smooth running of the department. System Administrator for supporting four IBM SP2 environments for NAFTA DaimlerChrysler (~150 SP nodes & SP-attached Servers) hosting SAP and Data Warehouse applications (both development and production sites). Duties include: Installation, configuration, implementation, support, and troubleshooting of SP2 Control Workstation, SP2 Frames, and SP-attached Servers running AIX 4.3.3/5.1/5.2 and PSSP 3.2/3.4/3.5. Supply Project planning and implementation of projects (GSAP, QNA, MIM etc) associated with SP environments, including capacity planning, lease replacement of the servers, and disk replacement when needed. Supply backup support for the NAFTA DaimlerChrysler AIX environment including plant systems, HACMP (4.x.x & 5.x) clusters, and additional servers. SAN administration in environment of Brocade (2800 and 3800) switches and McDATA Directors (64M). Tools used: EMC VolumeLogix, EMC Connectrix Manager for managing McDATA Directors. Strong knowledge of WWN and zoning. Data Migration: Strong knowledge of data migration in a complex SAN environment. Performed frame to frame SAN migrations, which reduced I/O constraints, and lease extension costs. Disk administration – Strong skills of EMC Symmetrix, PowerPath, EMC ControlCenter/Solution Enabler, Volume Logix, ESN Manager, Connectrix Manager; IBM SSA Disk Storage System, EMC SRDF. Installed & configured IBM Regatta eServer p670 and p570 servers. Used LPAR and HMC to partition the system and allocate dynamic virtualized resources. Configured NIM (Network Installation Manager) Master & performed OS upgrades on NIM clients. Experience with OS Hardening (security). Installation of DB2 software, Websphere 3.5 & 4.0, Webserver 1.1.19 (Apache) & MQ Series. Provided on call 3rd level support to UNIX systems of around 1250 servers of AIX
