Dr. Laura Cyr is a first-generation student who grew up in Maine and has spent her life living and working in Portland, Lewiston-Auburn, Orono. She works at the as the State and Federal Legislative Liaison for the Maine Department of Education. This role includes acting as the agency rulemaking liaison and now the MIC3 Commissioner Designee. She received degrees from the University of Southern Maine and has taken additional coursework from the Harvard Business School. Dr. Cyr has taught all levels including middle-school and college-level language, writing, communication, and other Humanities topics. She currently teaches project management and professional writing as a distance adjunct professor. Her research interests include public higher education, student loan debt, and equity. When not tracking legislation and working with Maine’s congressional delegation, Laura lives on a small 5-acre farm where she and her husband raise goats, chickens, ducks, with their three dogs.

I developed an appropriate set of deadlines in accord with the museum's strategic plan and served as teh point person for administrative meetings.

I worked closely with upper management and an international team as the survey instrument was defined and geographical boundaries were determined. As the on-site researcher, I was responsible for conducting the interviews and gathering visual data. Due to my time management, we were able to meet each phase of our project ahead of schedule and under budget.

As a line dispatcher, I fielded calls for police, fire, medical, and municipal public services for a community of over 100,000 residents.
