Sep. 2022 - Apr. 2024As part of the SRE Platform Team my main responsibility is the transformation of the pipelines to achieve 100% automation in the development and deployment of applications in GCP. Parallel to this, I also collaborate in: • Implementing cost efficiency practices, studying the current resources, mostly those related to GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), and applying changes in the scale and need of the containers used which resulted in a 60%-65% reduction in cost during the first month after the changes were applied. • Maintaining and modifying the GKE environment, already created as well as deploying new ones using Terraform. • Documenting the new architecture and onboarding processes for new teams using Confluence. • Moving away from Cloud Build in benefit of Github Actions to test and deploy the applications developed by the PD Teams. • Making sure that all the applications sitting in the “liftandshift” environment were moved smoothly into a containerised set up, advising the PD teams when necessary. • Help the teams onboard their apps into ArgoCD. • Troubleshooting any incident that came into the team and redirecting the resources to the appropriate team if that was the case. • Monitoring the infrastructure using Graphana and Prometehus, reviewing the existing and assessing metrics and creating new ones when necessary.

The intranet is working on MediaSurface CMC v5.4 and there are plans of migrating it to Morello 5.7 or Morello 5.8 at some point. This later evolved in analysing and estimating the whole IT section of the migration project, liasing with other teams such Alterian (product support), PGDS (hardware maintenance) and Prudential Internal Comms (client). Besides that managing of the intranet, I am assiting on how is the best way of perform that migration, assessing risks and improvements needed. Lastly, I help managing, as a team, the other web sites of Prudential.
