My duties included the planning, coordination, scheduling, organizing, and delivering a series of training courses for the small business entreprenuerial owners within the area. This targeted audience had unique characteristics that made the job challenging: cultural differences, language barrier (most were Quechua speakers), illiteracy, lack or no technological knowledge, not enough or no funding capital at all. We founded what is now called "Escuela de Empresarios" (School of Entrepreneurs)

Dec. 1993 - Dec. 2010Lima, PeruIndependent professional office for mechanical and electrical engineering projects serving the Peruvian industry. I successfully developed my career as an engineer, but my underlying goal was to have a real place where I could teach and train marginalized youths and let them open their personal doors to more successful lives. Along those years I was able to train and then got them into the job market young people who otherwise had no opportunity to get some education on a certificated trade. I consider this my major accomplishment for this period of my life. After consolidating my engineering consulting reputation, in 2005 I started on teaching university courses.

Coordinator - Tutor
Cenca - Centro de Capacitación y AsesoríaCoordinator - Tutor
Jan. 1989 - Dec. 1989Lima, PerúCenca is a non profit organization that focuses on alleviating the struggles and limitations of people, living in the Eastern slums of Lima, most of them Andean Aboriginals. Cenca supported women's organizations on managing a municipal program: "El vaso de leche" (the glass of milk) whose goal was to provide a morning meal for children at elementary schools since they were going to classes with no meal at all; parents had no enough resources to feed their families. My main responsibilities were to advise and support the women's organizations on managing the program. The economic families' situation were so critical that, despite the little help the municipal government provided for their smaller children, they found themselves with no food to provide for the other family members. Along the journey, they soon realized that their organization was proficient on achieving common goals making them aware of the transforming power of their organization. Under this premises they decided on taking over brand new goals: to provide their families an extra income, a strategy to reduce food costs, and set up food organic gardens by their own. This way, I ended up by organizing trades skills and the set up of business courses, helping to planning a trading program with Andean communities’ farmers, as well as accompanying them to discuss their proposals for organic gardens with the district' mayor. This experience was meaningful for me: I learned a lot from those courageous women.
