• Recommended new hardware purchases for a rapidly growing ISP
• Designed and implemented a failover solution for primary login servers and mail servers. Implemented use of RAID equipment to assist in easing failover issues while using Veritas command line vxvm administration tools.
• Designed and implemented external network arrays and dial-in modem banks.
• 24x7 work environment with 7 external locations that needed to be monitored and maintained.
• Duties include monitoring Digital Unix servers (version 3.2 through 4.0d), SGI Indy IRIX web servers (version 5.3 through 6.5), and Alpha NT servers with ISS. • Responsible for installation and maintenance of internet server functions including BIND(ver. 4.8.3 through 8.1.1), POP3 (Qualcomm qpopper), Sendmail(ver. 5.45 through 8.9.1), IRC, Apache web server, Netscape Commerce web server, secure web licenses, FTP servers, Quake servers, Kali Servers, DEC Raid unit(through RAID level 5). • Installed and maintained a SunNetra for a local High School. Re-installed 3 times without losing the /export/home directory of the students of the school. Also instructed the school on how to secure the box, set-up the routing tables, and setup the Netscape WebServer. • Also capable of troubleshooting the hardware level of DEC servers and SGI Indy boxes. • Installed and can maintain Cisco 7000, 4500, 2500 series routers.
• Installed and can maintain USR/3COM Total Control Modem Units.
