Grew the company to a little over 100,000 subscribers before selling it to NewNet Holdings of Orlando B. Vea, founder of Smart Communications, the leading mobile phone company in the Philippines. • Developed the business idea with three co-founders and managed the start-up phase, including government registration of the business, incorporation, set up of data-center and telecommunications facilities • Developed the Webmail software and database, authored the Web site, composed the text content and draw the graphics • Upgraded the service to a more scalable configuration to handle more subscribers expected in the aftermath of the sale of most of the company to NewNet Holdings in January 2000 • Served as the spokesperson and coordinated an effective publicity campaign that popularized the Pinoymail brand and service; featured in practically all major newspapers • Built up the company from a two-person operation to a 15-person team • Conceptualized and launched Pinoycards, the largest electronic greeting cards service in the Philippines similar to BlueMountain and Yahoo Greetings • Conceptualized and launched WebTxt, a service that allows people to send short messages to any mobile phone right from the Web. Services Trade Fair in 2002. • Formulated strategy to market and sell outsourced e-mail services to small companies and government institutions to add to the list of revenue services of the company • Did development work for new products and services focusing on wireless and Web-enabled payment systems.
