Analyze and review information to determine eligibility for federal program. Each case must be examined for compliance with policy.
Organize facts and documentation to support determination whether denial or approval.
Summarize facts in a written narrative and compile supporting documentation to prepare permanent record.
Communicate results of determination to relevant parties including: Child Welfare case worker, foster home certifiers, relative providers, Children’s Benefit Unit, and other agency staff as needed.
Update computer system with eligibility coding.
Review all eligibility factors by interviews with caseworker, compilation of relevant court orders to add to the permanent record, search relevant statewide information systems, and communicate with clients as needed. Recommend any action required to maintain eligibility.
Update agency information system and prepare narrative of review findings. Consult and provide information to other resources as needed including: lawyers, judges, parents, other DHS agency staff, foster care providers, advocacy groups, Children’s Benefit Unit, central office staff. Maintain permanent eligibility record for all children eligible for Title IV-E program. Compile information and documentation for support in administrative hearings. When assigned or subpoenaed, testify at hearings or in court.
