I was promoted to General Manager in 2013 from our HQ in Cape Town to support and grow our existing global customer base of 2,500 organisations and 390,000 users in over 45 countries. I lead our partnership with Darktrace, the world leading Cyber defence AI technology and proud to have been awarded their Partner of the Year in 2020 and 2021 I work closely with C-Suite executives in enterprise organisations across Africa, Europe and North America on cybersecurity projects. Customers include Takealot.com, Mediclinic Group, Netcare, Life Healthcare, Dischem, UNISA, University of Pretoria, University of Stellenbosch. I also have a special interest in the role AI plays in driving next generation optimisation of field assets. I led the successful delivery of a ground breaking AI project with Mediclinic's ER24 that uses Spatio Temporal Gaussian Processes developed in collaboration with University College London. We predict where and when emergency calls take place and prescribe the optimal deployment of paramedic resources. It has been a privilege to be a senior manager in a fast growing technology company and proud to have been recognised by Deloitte as one of the fastest growing tech companies across EMEA on 3 occasions.

Apr. 2010 - Dec. 2012Cape Town Area, South AfricaI was hired as Sales Manager (reporting to Sales Director) to manage a sales team of 30 FTE’s reselling Cloud security solutions. Within my first 6 months the Sales Director resigned and I took responsibility to lead our global sales efforts. I reduced the head count of the sales team by approximately 25% (challenging the CEO’s ambitions to double the sales team) and focused on creating the right culture and team environment. In my first full calendar year, our team nearly doubled the value of Grove’s business with 91% growth in revenues. I attended Google’s global top performing partner awards in San Francisco (1 of 2 African companies out of top 50 global Google partners).

Aug. 2008 - Apr. 2010Mooiplaas, Eastern Cape, South AfricaThe rare opportunity came about to be part of a pioneering Aquaculture pilot project that resulted in the first commercial harvest of farmed Kob (Kabeljou) in South Africa. What makes this so fascinating is that this was an RAS aquaculture system farming marine fish 40km away from the ocean. Responsibilities included researching and visiting leading global production plants, raising capital for the large scale production plant, overseeing the production team and as a board member reporting project progress to the board and investors

Jan. 2001 - Dec. 2008Cape Town Area, South AfricaWith very little business experience but a strong determination to succeed, I started my first business, a real estate agency in the fast developing Blaauwberg area in Cape Town during the property boom of the early 2000's. Red Pepper grew to be solid, profitable business with the sale of over 500 properties, 2 landmark offices, awards and a strong, respected brand. I am most proud of some of the disruptive marketing tactics we had to employ in the early days to get the Red Pepper name out there ( people still remind me to this day) and being the only property business in our region to operate exclusively by referral.
