SSRS and SQL Developer
FSP SolutionsSSRS and SQL Developer
Jan. 2023 - Apr. 2024Pretoria, Gauteng, South AfricaMicrosoft SQL Server Reporting Services developer and T-SQL developer. I created and maintained existing SQL Server databases. I created and Altered Stored Procedures for use in SSRS. In SSRS I obtained most data from Stored Procedures and custom SQL query code. The SSRS reports were then published to DEV, Staging and Live Reporting Servers. All reports were accessed through the production front-end. I was active as a SSRS (SQL Reporting Services) developer. I created new SSRS reports and maintained existing reports. I touched on and worked with most functionality in SSRS. All data necessary for the development and maintenance of reports was obtained from Stored procedures, either developed by me or maintained by me. In addition to the SSRS part of the business I rolled out new applications and BI functionality like SSAS Tabular format Cubes for use inside Excel or outside Excel via Excel functionality build by me. (please have a look at the Excel BI Ribbon project that I build and maintained.) I did SQL Server Database design and implementation for the SSRS reports used by business and Power-Users inside and outside the company.

Jun. 2008 - Apr. 2013Microsoft SQL server database 2012: SQL Server Integration Services 2012: SQL Server Analysis Services 2012: SQL Server Reporting Services 2012: Microsoft SQL server database 2008: SQL Server Integration Services 2008: SQL Server Analysis Services 2008: SQL Server Reporting Services 2008: Performance Point Services Responsibilities: I was a Business Intelligence Developer, working in a small team of 4 people. We design, develop and maintain small Data Warehouses and databases for various departments within our company. We do all development and reporting in Microsoft products like SQL Server, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS. With SSAS I develop Cubes by using SQL server tables and views for the business in order to analyze current financial situations and to view trends in order to make predictions. With SSRS I build basic reports for power users in order to analyze low level data and business processes. I also build Dashboards by using gauges and graphs for internal call centers. With SSIS we build packages in order to execute stored procedures which in turn help us to update our SSAS Cubes. I make use of controls like ''Execute SQL task'', ''Analysis Services Processing Task'', ''Send Mail Task'' as well as other controls. I also assume responsibility for interaction with the client\user in order to draw up the necessary specifications for the development process by using a basic in-house BI SDLC.

Apr. 1999 - Oct. 2007At Momentum I worked with various data sources in order to do reporting via old Cognos applications like Impromptu. Mostly because of licensing costs and a lack of functionality we moved over to Microsoft SDQL Server in order to do reporting for the business along with DTS (Data Transformation Services) as an ETL tool. The mainframe from which we got most of our data was IBM AS/400 iSeries servers and other smaller SQL Servers. We later used SharePoint as a storage platform for data until we developed a small HTML front-end with HTML in order to make Excel and SSRS data available to the business.
