Aug. 2008 - Jan. 2015Cape TownAs a member of the Market Segmentation project team, I was responsible for the development and launch of a market segmentation model internally for Metropolitan. After completing the segmentation model, the development and implementation of the customer value proposition (CVP) for the entry-level markets commenced to enable the business to actively pursue its objective of being the preferred insurance provider in the low- to middle-income markets in South Africa. Continuous research, study, and analysis to identify and translate insights into appropriate strategies and action plans supported the development and implementation of a marketing plan anchored in segment customer insights.
In this role, I drove marketing innovation to deliver efficiencies while delivering effective, client-focused strategies. I led a young marketing team, and I had to inspire, guide, and grow a team of marketing professionals and partners to successfully implement and execute the marketing strategy. Stakeholder management and collaboration were required to ensure the successful implementation of marketing and business development initiatives.
I was accountable for setting and managing the marketing budget, as well as analytics and reporting to management and executive teams.
