GEODISBusiness Intelligence Architect
Sep. 2011 - Mar. 2016Gothenburg, Sweden* Implemented for the multinational Geodis several data warehouses and reports using SQL Server’s SSMS, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Qlikview, Excel, VBA, .NET,C# and REST APIs to extract supply chain/financial data from the different worldwide departments’ data sources Dynamics (SQL Server, DB2), Sharepoint, XML/CSV/TXT files, Excel, Access, Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle, DB2) SAP ERP Business Suite (DB2, Excel) and tailor-made sources, create data models and present reports for deeper insights about freights, CO/2 emissions, and various financial aspects.
* Implemented several SSRS reports in a cash flow management system for Geodis that was vital for the operations and finance departments to see payment patterns of invoices, effeciently calculate accruals, account receivables (AR) and account payables (AP), and led to a shortening of two months of Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) which significally improved cash flow and enhanced financial performance.
* Whilst a BI Architect at Geodis, by using APIs, .NET, C# and SSIS for gathering and recognizing UN/LOCODEs and IATA codes, coordinates and different spellings of country and city names it led to a big increase in accuracy of hub and port data which was very important for the quality of shipping lane statistics. * At Geodis I performed a major overhaul of the database performance by using the SQL Server tools DMVs, Performance Monitor and Profiler and by optimizing indexes, resolve blocking and deadlocks, assign optimal data types, scaling up hardware resources, switch from cursor loops to set-based operations in SQL code the performances of the databases were heavily improved.
* During the consolidation of BI systems towards one Nordic BI system at Geodis I led a team of three developers and was lead architect and developer, and created milestones, budget and spoke to stakeholders for the project such as the managers for sales, operations and finance and it lead to a successful implementation.
