Key responsibilities I had in this role:
-Leadership: Providing strong and effective leadership to the Students' Association, guiding its activities and initiatives.
-Advocacy: for the needs, concerns, and interests of political science students to university administration, faculty, and other relevant stakeholders.
-Communication: Serving as a liaison between students and faculty, disseminating information about departmental policies, programs, and events.
-Organizing Events: Planning and organizing academic, social, and extracurricular events for students, such as conferences, seminars, workshops, social gatherings, and cultural activities.
-Collaboration: with other student organizations, departments, and external partners to enhance the student experience and promote interdisciplinary dialogue and engagement.
-Student Support: Providing support and resources to students, including academic assistance, mentorship programs, and advocacy services.
-Community Engagement: Engaging with the broader university community and the local community to promote awareness of political issues, civic engagement, and social responsibility.
-Budget Management: Managing responsibly including budgeting, fundraising, and allocation of funds for various activities and initiatives.
-Elections and Governance: Overseeing the democratic processes of the association, including organizing elections, maintaining membership records, and ensuring adherence to the association's constitution and bylaws.
-Promotion of Diversity and Inclusion: diversity, equity, and inclusion within the student body and advocating for the representation of marginalized groups.
-Conflict Resolution: Addressing conflicts and disputes among students fairly.
