KZUU 90.7 FMGeneral Manager
May. 2013 - May. 2014Pullman, WAI began with KZUU during my Junior year (but first year at WSU) and I quickly moved from DJ to Assistant Music Director. I was interviewed and selected by a panel made up of KZUU management, our committee advisor, the incoming Associated Students of WSU Vice President, and chairs of various other ASWSU committees to be promoted to General Manager. As the GM, I was responsible for all technical equipment, attending many various ASWSU committee and Senate meetings, the head organizer of all management, station meetings, events, and promotions. It was important for me to manage the relationship with our advisor, CUB faculty, the ASWSU staff, Student Involvement, and many multicultural/various committees on the WSU campus. I was responsible for KZUU’s budget and spending throughout the year. During my time, I implemented a number of new improvements for the station such as KZUU compilation albums every semester and an annual music festival called Kazzuzapalousa, both of which are still ongoing. There were a number of crises I had to deal with, including the breaking of a switch in the board which kept us off air for weeks. I asked for and secured a large sum of money from the ASWSU Senate to purchase a new production computer and transmitter.
