FM:SystemsIndustry Manager, Higher Ed & Healthcare| Manage Space Proactively | Think Strategically
May. 2017 - Feb. 2019Greater Los Angeles AreaHigher Education and Healthcare Facilities & Real Estate Leaders crave industry data and information. What are other organizations doing that might work for us? How have they organized their staffing? What positions are they creating or repurposing? How are they being funded? Are their budgets up or down? My job is to deliver value to prospective customers by sharing top trends and practices in my industries. Prospects don't like to be sold, but they love to buy. I travel my territory weekly in order to meet in person with business unit leaders to discuss current challenges and goals. I can access a deep repository of anecdotal and empirical evidence to educate and guide. If I'm a fit and my solution is a fit, fine; if not, that's okay too. It is this value-added approach that contributes to FM: Systems 98% customer retention in a competitive market. It helps that my employer, FM:Systems is a pioneer in applying technology to the traditional business of managing real estate assets: buildings, facilities, leased and owned property. The primary challenge facilities managers face is the lack of centralized data needed to understand what is going on: how is space being allocated, which departments own space, where are vacancies, and particularly, see all this data and more on a floor plan in real time, on any device. It's not all about software. It's about the methodologies, workflows and streamlined processes that can be applied to a complex management challenge. Facilities leaders are on a constant journey to deliver improvements, efficiences and better ways of doing things. It's my job to help facilitate this journey. And I love my job and strive to do it well.
