Manage all aspects of Server operation from 10pm to 8am. This includes but is not limited to the monitoring of all production servers in our 6 primary datacenters worldwide this includes ensuring that servers are up and functioning within established performance levels. Directing, prioritizing and correcting issues detected from our monitoring systems.
Manage the day to day activities of 2 level 1 systems administrators and 2 level 2 system administrators including acting as an escalation point for both technical and customer service issues.
Assist customers with the trouble-shooting, repairing and configuring of most Unix based server software including Apache 1.3, Apache 2.1 PHP, Java, Tomcat, Sendmail, Mysql, and Oracle8i
Trouble -shoot and repair issues with the UNIX environment including user management, ownership, permissions, and cron.
Primary contact for network and datacenter outages.
