Jun. 2024Reseda, CAThe Reseda Neighborhood Council (Reseda NC or RNC) is a part of Los Angeles’ Citywide network of Neighborhood Councils (NCs). This network is a community-based arm of the Los Angeles City government, created better to connect Los Angeles’ diverse neighborhoods to City Hall. Each NC comprises a board of volunteers who must be stakeholders (live, work, own real property, and/or have significant, ongoing participation – an interest, or ‘stake’- within the boundaries) of the community they represent. The Reseda NC is currently comprised of nine (9) “At-Large” Community Stakeholders (ACS), three (3) “Business” Community Stakeholders (BCS), three (3) “Residential” Community Stakeholders (RCS), one (1) “Young Adult” Board Member, and one (1) Youth Board Member (YM). Of these board members, six (6) officers are elected to serve at the pleasure of the board in the capacities of their elected office- President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Parliamentarian, and Sergeant-of-Arms. In addition to the governing Board, Reseda NC has numerous Committees, each devoted to specific community concerns/causes that meet various times throughout the month. Committees are open for any community stakeholder to join and are a great place to participate in a less formal, more focused interest manner. Our purpose is to participate as a body on issues concerning our neighborhood and regarding the governance of the City of Los Angeles in a transparent, inclusive, collaborative, accountable, and viable manner; our mission is to encourage community participation in City Governance.
