These include managing the 8-week educational program offered to the Pledges to familiarize them with the Fraternity as a whole, what it stands for, its benefits, and its requirements of joining and officially being inducted as a Brother of Alpha Kappa Psi. I supervised and administered several events/requirements throughout the semester that were needed during the recruitment period. Rush period (period of which the Chapter reaches out to individuals who may be future Pledges) that was done through setting up a Society Stall during the University’s society fair and reaching out to people getting them interested in AKPsi. As well as setting up an (info session) meeting with all the individuals who are interested to familiarize them with the Fraternity. Pledge period (8-week Pledge education program) that was done through weekly presentations that were created by me that inform the Pledges of fraternal policies, fraternal requirements, all the fraternal knowledge they must know and memorize for their fraternal exam and the requirements needed for their Mid-Term Interviews. To correctly facilitate that and smoothly go through the 8-week program, which is one of the most time-consuming requirement as VPM, I meticulously went over the program's Facilitator Guide to fully understand what is expected of a VPM and how to conduct the education program to the Pledges. I acted as the main point of communication and contact between Pledges and Brothers and was in a very close communication channel with the Chapter’s President and Executive Vice President (a.k.a. Vice President of Administration). Being a VPM is challenging. You get to know and learn about different people and their cultures. It can get stressful sometimes and it has its ups and downs, as all positions do, but it was great fun. It was an amazing opportunity to further develop my social and organisational skills.

It is the first business fraternity in London and second in the UK, thanks to three QMUL students – Daniel M. Bui, Klara Klarowicz and Elena Burykina (the founding three). In 2015/16, the founding three studied abroad at the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida and became brothers of Beta Pi “Chapter” (location at which AKPsi is chartered) in Fall 2015. Seeing the benefits of a brotherhood, they decided there was a need for such an organisation at their home university. So, upon returning to QMUL, they brought over the concept and after successfully attracting new members through showing the meaning of brotherhood, the importance of giving back to the community, and encouraging lifelong learning, Alpha Kappa Psi was established at QMUL.
