• Prepares budget and tracks cost related facilities maintenance and renovation works.
• Ensures UDC’s safety and environmental standards are kept in relation to the OSHA regulations.
• Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with approved plans, specifications and submittals and as-built information is properly documented.
• Manages risk proactively and identify mitigation strategies in the implementation of the UDC’s facilities projects.
• Managed a department of 42 Employees comprising: Facilities Managers, Administrative Manager, Senior Secretary, clerical officers, JCC Facilities Supervisor, Technicians (Electrical, Electronics, Equipment), Stock Controller, issuing clerk, Specialist Supervisors (A/c, landscaping, janitorial, plumber, Electrical/Mechanical), etc. as well as facilities maintenance subcontractors.
Special Accomplishments:
• Established the preventative maintenance programme/schedule for Kingston and St. Catherine facilities.
• Renegotiated the maintenance contract for block 11 opposite the Jamaica conference centre.
• Established and monitored Key Performance Indicators for planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Coordinated the communication to advised remind tenants of their obligations of the lease agreement they sign with UDC. This allowed UDC to save approximately J$26Million in maintenance expense for the Office Centre Building and further J$10Million for Kingston Mall.
• Established the project to automate the facilities maintenance request helpdesk with ICT
• Established discussions with Estate Department for new maintenance rates for Office centre Building based on the age and life cycle of key assets.
• Provide guidance to the OSHA Officer & Estate Officer for effective property management.
• Guide UDC ISO 9001:2015 implementation final phase to certification
