I taught GED and ESL skills to parents of children enrolled in an elementary school with a low socioeconomic demographic. I had a classroom for parents next to the kindergarten. I partnered with the elementary teachers to identify volunteer opportunities for the parents and then I taught the parents the lessons before they went into other classrooms to help their kids as volunteers. This program met a need identified by the family school services provider by increasing access to education for parents.
