Feb. 1999As a Staff Nurse in the Medical ICU, I provided frontline care to critically ill patients. Skill included ventilator management, IABP, Swan Ganz and cardiac output. I am able to titrate various IV drips to patient condition. I have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize care, including patient and family educated, based on patient need. As a nursing supervisor I managed staffing and did bed control. I served as a resource for the entire nursing and non-nursing staff. I visited with patients and families who had questions about the care they were being given. As a Cardiac Cath Lab nurse, I gave care to patients undergoing Cardiac Cath procedures. Care included procedural sedation, pre and post procedure education, and patient assessment In my current role as Cardiac Coordinator, I am working to maintain Hillcrest's Chest Pain Center accreditation. I also maintain three registries through the NCDR. I am working to advance Hillcrest's national ranking in certain core measures.
