Jacqueline Miró was born in San Salvador, El Salvador. After attending Middlesex Boarding School she studied architecture at Tulane University in New Orleans, La., where she obtained a Masters in architecture. In 1995, Miró moved to Paris where she obtained her Masters in urban policies at the Ecole Nationale des Ponds et Chaussées. Upon moving to New York, she completed the Whitney Independent Studies Program and opened a production and concept firm. As a natural outgrowth of her design and urban background she has joined forces with various collaborators over the years producing strong brands and sustained focus for art galleries. Her work has been featured in most major international art magazines and her curatorial work has received international acclaim, including SWELL, Bella Pacifica and Infernal Instincts. She was instrumental in re-opening the original L.A. Gallery FERUS - as well as curating shows for art Basel Miami, the Armory Show, Frieze and the Venice Biennale. Her project for Foundation 2021 Venice in Venice has been praised as one of the most brilliant events at the Venice Biennale for 2011 and was attended by more than 300 visitors a day in its 6 month duration. This project included the renovation of a 17th century Palazzo—four days of curated events (including a press conference—symposiums—a diner event attended by 900 people and a Nino Rotta concert with a 30 piece orchestra and guest appearance by Courtney Love—a skateboarding event in Campo San Polo ) as well as a seminal exhibit of Venice California art from the 1950’s to in situ installations commission especially for the Palazzo. Her clients include Metro Pictures, Friedrich Petzel, Foundation 2021, The Getty Museum, The Venice Biennale, Man of the World, The Hole, The Kitchen, Tavros Capital, Avroko and Adam Gordon Holdings. Dec. 2009 - Sep. 2012Greater New York City AreaI produced and Curated shows for Foundation 2021 and Nyehaus, as well as the Venice Biennale, the Getty Museum, Metro pictures, Petzel Gallery and David Nolan. I art directed websites - designed by Jim Evans of Division 13 - and designed all other marketing materials. As a PR liaison, I acted as main liaison with press and Biennale press office and Getty Museum during all the stages of preproduction, four days of vernissage, and post opening. I produced also produced the video From Venice to Venice, VinV book and wrote all RFP’s to secure sponsorships.

AvroKOStudio Lead

Jan. 2006 - Dec. 2009Responsible for overseeing the architectural aspects of the development of the design, production of the construction documents ("plans") and specifications. The position involved coordinating the needs of clients, internal staff and outside consultants such as structural engineers, Mechanical Engineers. Other responsibilities included client relations to zoning and building code management, material specifications, maintaining quality control by checking and making revisions to shop drawings.
