PhilipsGraphic Designer CD rom & Print
Jan. 1996 - Oct. 1996Philips along with Sony shares the patent for the invention of the CD. I originally started in Creative Services for Philips Media developing packaging for the marketing department. There I designed hundreds of full color RTE & STE boxes, corrugated inserts, CD jewel art, multi-language Manuals, labels etc.. I single-handedly reduced Cost of Goods Sold (CoGS) in print by more than 30%. I was promoted to Product Development because of my experience with licensed characters & my desire to be involved in animation. I became part of the award-winning Philips Home & Family Division. My responsibilities included interface design & content development on many educational CD-ROM titles. I was called on to create backgrounds & prop designs, character illustrations & animation, image manipulation & retouching using proprietary software. I worked with such well-known licenses as Peanuts, The Flintstones, Jumanji, NFL & many others.
