With over four decades of experience in the dental and healthcare sectors across the UK, Germany, and Australia, Chris brings unparalleled expertise and leadership to our organisation. Chris’s journey began as a dental surgeon, having qualified from Liverpool University in 1975. His extensive career has seen him in key roles such as mentoring doctors and dentists, thanks to his training from the University of Oxford Postgraduate Medical Department. He has also led several organizations, including serving as CEO of the British Enhancement Centre, an autism charity, and holding director positions in various community-focused enterprises. Chris’s personal experience with autism, diagnosed in 2017, has given him a profound understanding of the challenges faced by neurodiverse individuals. This diagnosis has driven his commitment to ensuring that all governance structures are informed by the latest research and best practices, with a strong ethical foundation. In his role as Interim Chair and Lead of Governance, Ethics, and Policy, Chris will be pivotal in shaping the governance framework of The Social Impact Academy. He will oversee the development and implementation of policies that ensure the highest standards of ethical integrity and inclusivity across all our initiatives, particularly in our missions related to Neurodiversity and Mental Health. Chris also contributes his expertise as a committee member and newsletter editor for the East Midlands Branch of the British Psychological Society, further demonstrating his dedication to advancing the field of mental health and neurodiversity.
