SAN Migrations - EMC to Hitachi and vice-versa, Array to Array, Array consolidations, Fabric Migrations, Persistent Binding of LUN IDs and migration behaviour, BCP/Disaster Recovery Array Migrations, Raw Disk Migrations - Oracle ASM Library on RHEL 5 and Oracle ASM on other OS's. Migration of Arrays from Hitachi to Pure and migration of server disk from EMC / Hitachi to Pure. Compliance Remediation for Internal Auditors. Decommissions, End of Life cycle management. Responsible for mentoring , training team members and writing How-To documents. Preparation and execution of changes on bank infrastructure. Achievements: Shoreview Data Centre disaster – Out of hours timely response, assisted restoration and
recovery within service level agreements and helped business units get their applications
back on line in the DR/BCP Data Centres. Necessary for the continuity of retail, business and
wholesale banking.
Recovery of mirrored boot disk - Unix – when both disks had suffered hard errors – this
avoided physical server rebuilds – saving days of downtime and extensive re-installation.
Corrected scripts for automation and highlighted issues with them. This avoided re-work and
issues on thousands of servers.
Built scripts for business units to assist with monitoring their applications. Necessary to alert
business units to problems with their applications and to assist in determining the root
cause of issues. This prevented outages and caught problem processes.
