Deputy MD during the acquisition of the business by ETDE, a French-based construction, a subsidiary of €25bn Bouygues Construction. Key role in creating the ETDE UK Board, integrating 3 subsidiary operations with a single holding company with turnover of £200m. Definition and execution of a UK Group strategy, including embedding and promoting mission statements.
Instrumental in proactively driving and implementing cultural change, moving to a larger corporate structure.
Achieved business turnaround, moving from £2m loss to £3m profit within just 2 years, creating a solid platform for the attractive future corporate sale of the business. Key contributions and successes:
• Implemented a new ‘fit for purpose’ training system, which included a full on-going matrix system • Managed the highly-successful introduction of an Apprentice scheme, developing internal talent
• Project-led the introduction of a company intranet, with fully-interactive Health & Safety training • Implemented a HR programme and procedures, including roll-out of HR and recruitment software
• Deployed new IT systems, streamlining core processes, boosting productivity and reducing costs
• Negotiated 4 Private Finance Initiative (PFI) bids, securing business of £700m over a 25-year term
• Led a complete transformation of the organisation culture and business model, whilst nurturing staff
