Aug. 2018 - Nov. 2020Dallas, TexasNadia Chandler Hardy was appointed Assistant City Manager on August 10, 2018. In this role, she is responsible for providing Executive leadership oversight to Dallas Animal Services, Code Compliance, Customer Relations-311, and the Offices of Equity and Human Rights, Homeless Solutions and Community Care. Prior to this appointment, Nadia joined the Dallas team in May 2017 serving as the City’s first Chief of Community Services. Prior to her Dallas appointment, Nadia most recently served the City of Tacoma as Assistant to the City Manager and Director of Neighborhood and Community Services. Most notably, Nadia spearheaded a citywide Ten-Year Vision and Strategic planning effort, engaging over 4,000 residents and community stakeholders resulting in the adoption of “Tacoma2025”, the City’s guiding policy document for service delivery, community development and government performance. As Director of the City’s Neighborhood & Community Services Department in addition to her duties as Assistant to the City Manager, Nadia managed a biennial investment portfolio of more than $45 million for human/social services and other community mobilization efforts. During her tenure as Department Director, Nadia led significant efforts to include establishing the City’s Continuum of Services for Homelessness, Mental Health and Workforce Development programs and restructuring the City’s code compliance business model for increased property resolution and compliance. Prior to her service in Tacoma, Washington, Nadia served as Management Assistant in the City Manager’s Office for the City of San Antonio, Texas. Nadia has also served in various capacities for the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. Nadia is a native of Pensacola, Florida.
