We specialised in research and development of a heritage textile called songket which is traditionally hand-woven with gold and silver thread. I served as the PR Manager, writing press releases and liaising with Editors and Journalists. I also initiated partnerships for CSR projects I conceptualised that could be leveraged for PR.

I created this brand from scratch with a designer in 2009 while I was still a Copywriter at an MNC Advertising agency. Once I took on a full-time role here, I developed the brand for more than a decade with a design partner. I took on a leadership role in the company, especially in branding and marketing. Online distribution is critical in the accommodations business, I also planned and executed integrated marketing campaigns involving SEO, SEA, organic and paid social media content and influencer campaigns. We maintained 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor during my entire tenure and outperformed the industry average with 79% occupancy (the average was 64%). We also won an unsolicited award in 2018 for outstanding achievement in our niche (Luxury Eco-Friendly Hotel Of The Year in Malaysia by Luxury Travel Guide).
