*Ensures compliance to the fiscal, budgetary, personnel, and operational systems established by the University of Texas, Advanced Cardiopulmonary Therapies and Transplantation Department, The Advanced Heart Failure Program, and research grant guidelines.
*Manages the Human Resources activities for direct reports and staff in regards to: recruiting and selection, Visa applications, hiring, performance improvement plans (PIP), termination, FMLA, on the job training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, monthly one on one meetings and all staff meetings, and salary plan.
*Manages the Faculty recruitment process from marketing, interviewing, offer negotiations, credentialing, relocations, and facility orientations.
*Manages faculty and staff files, as well as weekly time reports, vacations, sick leaves, and time and effort reports.
*Reviews and obtains necessary approvals for all personnel action forms regarding appointments, promotions, separations, salary actions, fund source changes, and other types of personnel action.
*Monitors travel, purchasing, payroll, timekeeping, contracts and grants.
*Maintains departmental equipment and assets and conducts annual space surveys.
*Manages and coordinates the daily activities of the department through 8 administrative staff.
*Serves as an internal and external liaison for the department to provide and ensure a smooth, efficient, and appropriate flow of information.
*Main point of contact regarding questions on departmental, institutional, and Memorial Hermann service line and system policies and procedures.
*Assists the financial analyst in the preparation of the annual budget, cost studies, and provides management reports reflecting FY trends.
