His deposition was also taken by the Federal Trade commission during their challenge of the acquisition. He has also negotiated the acquisition of multiple physician enterprises and two ambulatory surgery centers during his tenure. Starting in 2012 through today, he is continuing to build a contract retail pharmacy network which currently consists of 52 contract pharmacies including CVS, Walmart, Walgreens and Rite Aid as well as other local pharmacy chains. In addition, he has added various specialty pharmacies to the network resulting in a 8 figure impact to the bottom line of his facility. Gene is the Executive overseeing the facilities hospital pharmacy operations and has deployed a clinical pharmacy program that places clinical pharmacist in ambulatory clinics as well as pharmacuetical intensive departments of the hospital. Gene is heavily involved in his facilities physician alignment and academic medical center activities and is responsible for the provider based clinics staffed by Marshall Health. These clinics experience approximately 400,000 outpatient visit per year and have led to the success of the facilities 340b program. He is responsible for aligning physician compensation models for hospital based and provider based physicians that balance productivity with quality metrics. As a member of the Marshall Health executive team, Gene provides his healthcare expertise in identifying business development strategies for enhancing enterprise growth thought vertical and horizontal integration initiatives.
