Dec. 2013 - Oct. 2015Chicago, IllinoisDevOps Team is responsible for application deployment and tier-3 support for our enterprise-level SaaS application used by Public Relations and Marketing professionals that has won multiple CODiE Awards for the last five consecutive years. Cision has recently built a Big Data infrastructure based on Hadoop, Solr and Mongo DB, and run a mixed environment including Java and .NET applications. The team is not only responsible for release management and deployment, but also troubleshooting and break-fix support for production services. Currently working in the following capacity - Day to day support and administration of the Atlassian Continuous Delivery toolchain - Jira, Confluence, Stash, and Bamboo for .NET, Java, and MapR Hadoop projects and applications. - Primary resource architect for the current scaled out AWS Cloud infrastructure which consists 250+ nodes in multiple regions leveraging Elastic Beanstalk (Java and Node.js), RDS, Redshift, VPCs, EMR, Elastic Cache, multi-sharded geo-redundant MongoDB Clusters, and soon to be Apache Mesos clusters. 100% designed with Continuous Delivery in mind using the Altassian toolchain and Saltstack. Creating and evaluating use cases for Stackstorm, SupervisorD, Logstash, Saltstack, Serverspec Achievements:
Successfully Implemented and Deployed AppDynamics APM Tooling for .NET, Java for both on-prem and public cloud Successfully migrated from a farm of legacy frontend webservers platform that the application was manually deployed on, to a farm of 64bit Windows 2012 R2 servers that are automatically deployed to through the implementation of Deployment Plans with Bamboo. This migration took place midweek and incurred a sub 1 minute outage. Integrated Dashing Dashboard framework with Graphite and some Custom Nagios monitors for our web application. - An ongoing initiative to further build this out for more meaningful use.
