Apr. 2019 - Jun. 2022Dhaka, BangladeshAs an Acting Director of the largest American Space in South Asia, I led the center through a time when the pandemic and the emergence of social media and virtual programming transformed public diplomacy into digital diplomacy and forced us to change our strategy from standing out to reaching out. Streamlined all the programs and introduced the program approach to ensure all the activities of the EMK Center were contributing to the public and cultural diplomacy goals of the American Center. Introduced semi-annual audience and market analysis to get feedback on the current programs from the audience and identify the need of the target audience to design future programs. Launched three strategic programs: SheCanSTEM- to increase women's participation in STEM education and career; Road to 4IR-to prepare the youth of Bangladesh with skills required to thrive as Bangladesh enters into the fourth industrial revolution earlier than expected, and SkilUp- to develop youth employability skills and to create a platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities for the youth in the global job market. Established the first AR/VR center within any American Space in South Asia and the first e-sports club called "e-Blaze". Within 3 months of the inauguration members of the "e-Blaze" won five out of six awards in the global e-sports competition organized by the North American Scholastic E-Sports Federation(NASEF). During the lockdown, introduced KUNSTMATRIX, the VR-based online exhibition platform so that the artists can still display their artwork virtually from all over Bangladesh. Introduced strategies that increased the outreach by 120% in 2022 compared to the outreach in 2018 and increased the footfalls by 80% in 2022 compared to the footfalls in 2018.
