I am finishing my PhD at the University of Patras. My research is focused on next-generation optical communication systems and photonic networks, with emphasis on integrated photonic technologies for 6G mobile transport, high-capacity optical interconnects, and flexible network resource allocation. In particular, my work investigates RAMZI-based photonic structures for modulation and filtering, optical interleaver filters for digital subcarrier multiplexing, optical digital-to-analog converters, design and component maker design of optical equalizers for channel impairments and photonic integrated circuit solutions for scalable, energy-efficient, and low-latency communication infrastructures. Furthermore, actively involved in the management of 4 large scale (3- and 4-year) collaborative and industrial projects, maintaining the role of research leader and work package leader across the collaborating partners’ teams. This led to a number of well-established collaborations with major industrial vendors, leading European operators and renowned research institutes. Strong expertise with respect to both technical and administrative project management roles, including project planning, control, quality assurance and risk evaluation processes, as well preparation of project deliverables, reports and presentations. Additionally, served as project initiator, editor and contributor for many successful projects, identifying multi-disciplinary teams across the industry and academia sectors and coordinating their contributions. In addition to my research work, I am involved in research proposal writing and coordination, including the preparation of technical concepts, work-package descriptions, state-of-the-art analysis, impact narratives, and resource-planning sections for national and European funding proposals. My role also includes supporting proposal leadership by coordinating technical contributions and aligning network research activities with strategic funding objectives.
