The new feedback structures have enabled tutors to respond back to students in a timely manor and when required interventions can take place to improve the students success rates. • Line management in Science - I am responsible for the performance management of 2 teaching staff to include UPS/TLR holders. This work requires timely meetings, goal setting, coaching, lesson observations and support with report writing. • Termly data analysis of class by class progress comparisons, followed by relevant coaching conversations and strategy planning in line with departmental improvement plans. • Leading alongside the other 2 core lead practitioners on whole school CPD – this involves the planning and running of fortnightly focused pathways, forums, INSET workshops and supporting department meetings. • Completing in-school research and evaluation of teaching and learning strategies against educational literature. • Regular learning walks and observations to assess departmental climate and inform best practice. • Coaching and mentoring individuals across range of departments. My coaching has led to coached teacher assessments going from satisfactory to good with outstanding ratings on each occasion. • Organising and leading (strategic) department meetings. • Conducting work scrutinies (across all departments). • Continual strategic support to science department initiatives - year 11 student outcomes doubled from 30% to 60% in Science between 2016-2017.
