Any student from these schools who wished to opt in to virtual classes for the 2021-2022 school year was given an opportunity to do so. Virtual school is a fantastic alternative for students: who wish to learn from a wider pool of educators than only those teaching in their local school or learn topics and courses not offered in their local school; whose schedule may not be accommodating for traditional school, including athletes, performing artists, home bound students, and students with other non-traditional needs; and at present, those with concern about COVID and other communicable diseases. The courses I teach are rigorous and the school is accredited as a US secondary school operated under the auspices of the Wake County Public School system of North Carolina. I currently have 76 students in three classes.

My wife Elizabeth and I bought White Lotus Futon in 1990 and set out to remind those who had forgotten, and teach those who never knew, what role companies (should) have in society. While the untrained observer saw handcrafted mattresses and bedding and small batch furniture built solidly from domestic, non-rainforest hardwoods, those following White Lotus found activists and educators building a model for a sustainable economy. That model has since grown and thousands of customers and cohorts have made a significant impact in moving the world's economy toward greater sustainability and a stronger sense of social, economic, and environmental responsibility.
