Tasked to assess and verify a subsea control system extension project, assessing the feasibility and implications of retro fitting bypass ball valves to previously installed SSIV skids. The assessments were used to inform the client of spares philosophies, availability analysis and probability of failure on demand. The detailed analyses of individual components and sub systems were used to make decisions on product selection, supplier selection, lead times and prices. Performed RCA for damaged subsea spools and displaced concrete mattresses observed from a recent Technical Integrity Assessment. Performed DNV calculations to check integrity from observations. Investigated and presented solutions to mitigate against further damage and to provide future protection from environmental and accidental damage. Produced component specifications as part of FEED study and to be used as part of an ITT. Components included, SSIV's, flanges and line pipe. Updated company training manuals for inclusion into client courses. Courses such as Basics of subsea construction, installation of flexibles. Principals of J-Lay, S-Lay, tension requirement from reeled installations. Also involved in management of the new product development of cable protection systems for offshore wind farm. Driving the production of an independent Basis of Design and Basis of Analysis, including the definition of dynamic cable models for various metocean conditions, soil conditions and water depths for J-Tube and Monopile entries.

As part of degree course project, selected to redesign protective cover for sensitive marine equipment for practical application. Analysed and tested existing covers using Pro Engineer CAD software; designed alternative cover; optimised design to ISO standards; performed functionality tests; and presented to Stainstall management team. The design was successfully commissioned for further research and testing.
