Costo WholesaleSr. Analyst
Dec. 2006 - Sep. 2011At the end of 2006 I was transferred from production support to a newly created group called Change Release & Management. Responsibilities Primary role in this group is to support the QA department and their environments by managing code installs and ensuring that the environment is always available and functional. This includes but is not limited to: SAN Management & Support (Currently support 66 TB SAN) VMWare Management & Support Support, future growth, architecture design of the VMWare environment Documentation, knowledge transfer Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Costco.com & Costco.ca Accomplishments Deployed 4 VMware environments each in about 3 weeks not including QA buy off time. Each environment consists of 44 virtuals, Load Balancer and required external connectivity & DNS to be setup for each one. External connectivity was from the Lab to our Corporate QA testers. Improved installation methods for code deployment by creating an HTA and a VB script that allowed all code to be deployed from one central location which also eliminated the need to log onto each server. Improved current documentation for the site as, created additional documentation where it was lacking. Also found ways to improve supportability of the site(s) by improving code deployment processes, managing QA users and improved the understanding of the site for both my team and QA. Mentored others on the team on how to manage the site, troubleshoot and instructed members on the details of how the site functions from both a data flow as well as the technical aspects.
Analyst

Jan. 2004 - Nov. 2006Promoted to Analyst in October of 2004 Responsibilities Primary role was production support. This included Costco.com & Costco.CA. Continued responsibilities as listed in Specialist role however more focused now on maintaining the Production & QA environments than supporting developer desktops. Manage LAN Environments w/ 400+ servers (Production & QA) along with 60 developer desktops Accomplishments Improved automation scripts, trained other members of my team on how the process worked. Worked on creating documentation for the new Costco.com site. Including details on how each server was built out and details for configuring each type of server for the environment. Primary Analyst on the Costco.CA project. Was in charge of implementing the new site for Canada. This included setting up the test lab and production environments. Conducted and managed every install for the site after the launch for the next 2 ½ years which included day and night installs, many of which ran 4 - 6 hours to all night installs.
Specialist
Costo WholesaleSpecialist
Jan. 2002 - Sep. 2004Was promoted in October of 2002 to Specialist Responsibilities: Continued support of Developer Desktops for Costco.com and increased role in managing the production sites. This included: Primary lead on managing our third party vendor Keynote which was used for external monitoring. Internal monitoring by the use of several tools such as CIM (Compaq Insight Manager) Handled code installs into the environment utilizing Site Server 3.0 for image & code deployment. Accomplishments Updated and improved automation documentation & scripts Played a major role in the migration of the current E-Commerce Site from ASP to ASP .Net/C# and from Site Server 3.0 to Commerce Server 2002. As a result of this project I was promoted to Analyst In 3 days migrated 21 web servers from a HP DL360 G1 platform to a HP DL360 G3 platform without rebuilding any of servers. This saved the company about 3 weeks of work and $100,000 in savings. Created new automation scripts to build out 35 developer desktops in about 10 hours. This was important because the build for the developer desktops had a specific build order dictated by Microsoft which would change after every new revision of Commerce Server.
