Dec. 2007 - Mar. 2021Zimbabwe• Built a quality organization from scratch and led the development and implementation of various policies, standards, frameworks, and initiatives to enhance the quality of education and research. • Designed six national policies and standards for national and international universities e.g., Zimbabwe National Qualifications Framework; Internationalisation of Education Policy; Working Paper on Doctoral Training; Doctoral Training Framework; New Quality Assurance Framework for Education in South Africa. • Provided technical support for institutional and program reviews in various countries, including Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, Lesotho, Cyprus, and India, improving the academic quality and performance of 50 universities. • Organized harmonization initiatives to reduce variations in academic programs, staff promotion, and credit accumulation and transfer systems among universities. • Supervised over 60 teams to benchmark, peer review, capacitate, co-create knowledge, publish, present, and share best practices among universities. • International advisor to the Council on Higher Education South Africa’s project to develop a new quality assurance framework. • Spearheaded the development of the Zimbabwe National Qualifications Framework, which serves as a framework for recognizing and validating qualifications in the country. • Mobilised resources for ZIMCHE and obtained external grants worth over $5 million from the European Union, African Union, University of Nottingham Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Impact Acceleration Account, and the British Academy. • Board Chair and Board/Trust member in three universities, two research councils, and two professional bodies, demonstrating leadership and expertise in the education sector.
