Key Responsibilities: Brand Development: Guide the voice and visual ethos of Vessel across digital, event, print, and social platforms. Collaborate with a creative team to craft compelling and cohesive stories. Creative Direction: Lead the visual and editorial identity of Vessel, a quarterly print magazine and companion Substack newsletter that celebrates the style, culture, and creativity of the modern South. Editorial Leadership: Oversee all editorial content, from long-form features to short-form digital pieces. Assign, edit, and write stories that elevate diverse Southern voices and fresh perspectives. Partnerships + Growth: Cultivate relationships with advertisers, sponsors, and distribution partners. Lead business development efforts to grow Vessel’s reach and revenue while staying true to its creative mission. Publishing + Strategy: Manage ad sales, budgets, and production workflows for each print issue. Build partnerships with arts institutions, creative brands, and cultural organizations across the Southeast. Team Leadership: Direct a nimble and talented team of collaborators, contributors, and freelancers. Foster a spirit of care, curiosity, and excellence in all aspects of the creative process.
