Accomplished engineer and seasoned leader with over three decades of experience in the oil and gas industry. I hold advanced degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA, complemented by technical trainings in USA, France and Nigeria. I am a registered engineer with COREN and a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). I spent most of my career at ExxonMobil Nigeria, where I served in various leadership roles, including Upstream Nigeria Maintenance Manager, Senior Program Manager, Business Manager, Engineering Manager and Project Manager, in addition to having worked as Facilities and Design Engineer early in my career. I led critical projects requiring my expertise in project planning, project execution, engineering design, cost and schedule planning and control, and operational efficiency. My professional experiences also include roles in Production Operations and Facilities Engineering in Mobil Producing Nigeria, as well as Production Planning at Delta Steel Company, Warri, Nigeria and as a Research Assistant at the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA. Post retirement from ExxonMobil in 2018, I have transitioned into entrepreneurship and consultancy. I am the Chairman and Strategic & Finance Director for Greater Scholars International Schools Ltd (My wife and I, run and operate 3 K-12 Educational Institutions in Lagos, Nigeria). I also oversee operations at Pentad Energy Services Ltd (an oil and gas service company that a group of friends incorporated to provide service to the oil and gas industry in Nigeria), and I run my own consultancy, UKPONG SOLUTIONS. These ventures focus on education, logistics, and providing specialized services for the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
