Jan. 2015BrooklynAurora Botanica is a floral and design studio based in Brooklyn, New York, founded by Rawan Rihani. Rawan specializes in creating work with a dreamy, serene and wild aesthetic. With a background in painting and fashion design, Rawan approaches flowers like painting, creating art, and continues to combine lush and bohemian elements in her work while simultaneously playing with color and texture. In addition to designing weddings and installations, she also designs custom floral headpieces, floral styling for editorials, which has been featured in publications such as Vogue Magazine and Harper’s Bazaar. Her clients, who include Viktor + Rolf, Vogue Magazine, Byredo, and Armani, have expressed that they have gotten more than just flowers, but a true artistic expression. Rawan went to RISD, and graduated in 2005 before moving to NY to launch her career. She has designed for companies such as No.6, Urban Outfitters, Sycamore Flowershop, as well as head designer for accessories and Floral Guru at Stone Fox Bride before launching Aurora Botanica in February 2015. Rawan also launched a clothing line: Aurora Vestita, this past March 2017, and offers bespoke and one-of-a-kind wedding gowns, custom veils and capes and ready-to-wear collection. Rawan continues to collaborate and captivate, by curating moments with floral installations and styling flowers throughout the world creating emotion, movement and inspiration in the process.

Jan. 2011 - Feb. 2011I created formulas working with Dylon, Procion Mx, and Rit dyes. I worked with 50 different weights of silk and created a COLOR DYE FORMULA book for reference with hundred of swatches. The same formula was documented on different weights of silk. A selection of colors was used for No.6 collection and season. I also overdyed printed silks and creating the solid silk colors to emulate No.6 's rustic inspiration for their collection.
