Mar. 2016 - Mar. 2017London, United KingdomWorking for Lifeline IT involved supporting numerous clients from a wide range of fields, such as retail, real estate, fashion, mortgage brokers, bars, restaurants, accountants and solicitors that require IT support, telephony, IT strategy, networking and security. Periodically creating project plans and undertaking projects at clients of varying scales all over the city of London. The main daily duties include: • Windows Server 2003, SBS, 2008R2 and 2012R2 installation, configuration and administration to function in an existing network. • Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, 2010, 2013 and Office365 to support company mailing systems with a distribution over Active Directory Services. • Troubleshooting and resolution of issues encountered by employees in Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 desktop environments as well as Office applications. • Administration of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP servers in the event a client gets locked out, enforcing password policies and disabling accounts after employees leave their companies. • Configuration and Troubleshooting LANs, WANs and Wi-Fi networks using hardware from Cisco, Dell, HP, Draytek and Juniper to ensure optimum performance of networks. • Network monitoring through the SonicWall Firewall interface to identify any malicious attempts to breach the network or infect it with dangerous malware such as the Crypto Virus. • Configuring and managing Firewall rules and NAT policies to close vulnerable ports that could compromise networks and also monitor traffic from non-trusted external networks. • Administration of Virtual Machines using VMware, Vsphere and Hyper-V technologies. • Management of Avaya IP telephony equipment for use in the office environment. • Configuring VPN services for clients working from home. • Backup and monitoring of data to facilitate smooth disaster recovery. Using Vembu, Cloudberry and Symantec Backup Exec. • Computer hardware and other devices such as PED and PDQ payment systems.
